(Thessherald)-A viral video has surfaced on social media, showing a group of senior officials of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – IO who were involved in fist fights over who should occupy key ministerial positions in the coalition government.
In a widely shared viral video, the senior members of the SPLM-IO were spotted arguing and squabbling about who should get the first key ministry.
The SPLM-IO, is one of the key signatories to the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.
“Everyone is eyeing for a higher ministerial position in the unity government, and that is the origin of the brawl between the SPLM-IO officials,” said one of the SSOA members who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue.
Last week, President Salva Kiir Mayardit and First Vic-president Dr. Riek Machar agreed to allocate key ministerial positions to the SPLM-IO, including defense and petroleum ministries.
