Fuel shortage grip S. Sudan as MTN network switched off in Ikotos

May 5, 202 (Thessherald)– Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, fuel shortage has disrupted normal operations of essential services, including MTN network in Ikotos county of Eastern Equatoria State, according to an official quoted by Radio Tamazuj on Monday.

Appealing to relevant authorities last week, Maurice Ladu Wani, the county’s Executive Director urged the Government to provide fuel on a timely manner.

For his part, David Mushoke, the branch manager for MTN in Torit noted that that fuel shortages had stalled the operations of the MTN network and echoed the call for urgent intervention from the Government .

“Our fuel truck got stuck on the road, but it is transporting fuel that will last for three to four months. We also have backup guys who are on the ground,” he said.
