May 24, 2020 (Thessherald)–South Sudan’s citizens have praised recent torrential rain for having exposed and disrupted the ongoing construction of the highway linking Rumbek and the capital, Juba, before reaching a far distance.
Mariak Michael, a concerned South Sudanese citizen criticised the Chinese companies for their poor workmanship.
“I’m not an engineer but from what I have seen, the two kilometers tarmac road is an architectural disaster of all times. Thanks to Mother Nature for thwarting such daylight fraud,” he said.
He called on President Salva Kiir Mayardit to hold those ministers responsible for attempting to misappropriate public funds in the name of road construction.
“The President should be outraged and swiftly deal with his ministers and the Shandong company for deliberately attempting to cheat and rob the country of precious oil money.
Quality over quantity.”
