Information Minister Makuei back on duty after beating COVID-19

June 9, 2020 Thessherald)–The Minister of Information and government spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth has resumed his duty after recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The National Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Michael Makuei Lueth resumed his official duty on Tuesday,” his office announced today.

Michal Makuei along with the First Vice-President Dr. Riek Machar, Minister of Defense, Anegelina Teny, Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs and the Minister of environment were discharged by the Ministry of Health after having been tested negative for Covid-19.

South Sudan is close to reaching a grim milestone in the number of confirmed cases.

At least 1,604 people have contracted the disease since its outbreak in the world’s youngest nation.
