June 23, 2020 (Thessherald)–The Chairman of the National Democratic Movement, Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin has nominated Mahjoub Biel Turuk for the position of Governor of Jonglei state, one of the 10 states allocated to the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA).

“This is to confirm that the National Democratic Movement (NDM) has officially nominated its Secretary General, Mahjoub Biel Turuk, to the position of Governor of Jonglei State which is allocated to SSOA as per R-ARCSS,” said Dr. Lam Akol, Chairman of the National Democratic Movement.

“As you will recall only three organisations of SSOA have not been represented so far in RTGoNU. These are: NDM, SSLM and FDP.”

Adding that, “We hope that all of us will see that this will be where NDM could lead the contribution of SSOA and others in running this State.”

Akol calls on other members of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance to rally behind the candidate nominated by NDM.

“My special appeal is for the other two organisations to support NDM’s candidature.”
