Official’s son shows off luxury car worth $12 million in Nairobi
August 4, 2020 (Thessherald)–A rich son of a South Sudanese official seen on one of Nairobi’s streets, has left onlookers astonished after showing off a superb $ 12 million luxury vehicle, known as the Bugatti La Voiture Noire.
A picture widely circulated on social media on Monday shows Kenyan citizens taking pictures and looking at the luxury car out of curiosity.
The viral image trending on Facebook has drawn criticism from critics, accusing government officials of misappropriating public funds at the expense of the suffering population.
“Surely, how can you own such a machine in a foreign land and be proud of it?. I must confess that this is the most expensive car in Kenya. See how Kenyans are stunned and surprised by this machine. Even President Uhuru Kenyatta does not have this machine, the person in this car must be the son of the most corrupt leader in South Sudan,” wrote a Facebook user identified as Tut Kuany.
“This is a product of public money [embezzled] by whoever has blood relationship with him. May God fight on our behave the marginalised majority,” said Chankuoth Keah in a comment section.
“Some people own such expensive cars while the rest of us don’t even have food to eat. Soon all these looters will be judged,” another Facebook user said.
The luxury sports car with an SSD number plate was spotted in Nairobi, leaving Kenyan citizens in disbelief.
The unique and expensive Bugatti La Voiture Noire first appeared a few years ago at the Geneva International Motor Show with a price tag worth $18.68 million.
A report released by Transparency International earlier this year showed that South Sudan is the most corrupt country in the world after Somalia.
