September 11, 2020 (Thessherald)–It has come to our attention that there are documents circulating particularly on social media trying to imply that Africa Resource Corporation ARC has been fraudulently evading to pay import taxes especially pertaining our construction inputs and equipment.

Such information is meant to derail and undermine the progress we are making in our various road construction projects especially in light of the commendable job done so far. We would like to categorically state that ARC is a law abiding, legally operating corporate entity that is subject to all the tax and import regulations in South Sudan.

We would also like to state that as per the law of the land, all farming and construction equipment is tax exempt which is a measure taken by the Government to grow the local agricultural and construction sectors.

As ARC we are grateful to the Government of South Sudan for this policy because without it, local construction firms would not be able to compete with foreign, more capitalized firms in the construction of our Nation’s roads and bridges. We are committed to delivering the promise of quality that we have given our stakeholders and particularly the great people of South Sudan as we continue to invest in building our country.

We thank you for all the support we have received so far and urge you to dwell in positivity as we strive to build South Sudan together.
