President Kiir meets Sudanese high-level delegation in Juba
Oct 6, 2020 (Thessherald)–South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir met with members of the Sudanese Sovereign Council headed by Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and Shams al-Din Kabashi in his office on Tuesday.
According to the presidency, the meeting between Kiir and the visiting Sudanese delegation discussed a wide range of issues related to the implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement, signed on Saturday in the capital, Juba.
“The Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo said that they discussed with President Salva Kiir the ways for the implementation of the Sudan’s Juba Peace Agreement as well as the implementation of South Sudan Revitalized Peace Agreement,” the presidency quoted the Sudanese official as saying.
“The head of the Mediation Committee for Sudan’s Peace, Tut Gatluak Manime said that they also discussed arrangements for the second phase of Sudan’s Peace which includes, continuing the negotiations with the holdout groups of SPLM-North of General Abdel Aziz Adam al-Hilu and SLM of Abdel Wahid Nur to join the peace process.”
The Official meeting convened at the State House was attended by the Senior Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime and the Minister of Presidential Affairs, Nhial Deng Nhial.
