Gen. Taban visits magician, seeking shortest path to becoming president
October 27, 2020 (Thessherald)–South Sudan’s Vice President for Infrastructure Cluster, Gen. Taban Deng Gai has been ridiculed after paying a courtesy visit to a paramount chief, Tungwar Kueigwong Reat, who performed a traditional ritual by sprinkling water from head to toe.
“His Excellency General Taban Deng Gai the Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of Leek Nuer from 1969-present Tungwar Kueigwong Reat in his resident in Juba,” said Gatley Tungwar in a social media post.
“The two Leaders discussed the need to unite the people of Unity State and the people of the Republic of South Sudan for peace to reign in South Sudan.”
General Taban is a US-sanctioned official who was blacklisted In January, by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for his role in serious human rights abuses.
