BREAKING: Kiir appoints Abudhok Ayang Kur, Governor of Upper Nile State
South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit, in a Republican decree, has appointed, Abudhok Ayang Kur, as Governor of Upper Nile State and picked James Tor Monybuny, as his Deputy.
The Republican Decree Issued By The President
Republican Decree No.05/2021 for the Appointment of the Governor of Upper Nile State, 2021 A.D. 1.
1) Title and Commencement: This Decree shall be cited as “The Republican Decree No.05/2021 for the Appointment of the Governor of Upper Nile State, 2021 A.D.”, and shall come into force on the date of its signature by the President of the Republic.
2) The Decree: In exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Articles 165(1)(b) and 106A(2)(a) of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan, 2011 (as amended) read together with Article 188.8.131.52 of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) 2018.
I, Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, do hereby issue this Republican Decree for the Appointment of Hon. Budhok Ayang Kur as the Governor of Upper Nile State with effect from 29th January 2021.
