CES Governor Appoints Juba City Mayor, 2 Deputies

The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has appointed Kalisto Lado as the new Mayor of the Juba City Council.

In the same gubernatorial decree, Solomon Pitya and Thiik Thiik Mayardit were also appointed as deputies for Administration & Finance and Infrastructure Development, respectively.

The Gubernatorial Decree As Delivered

Equatoria State Gubernatorial Decree No.12/2021 for the Appointment of Mayor and Deputies Mayor for Juba City Council, Central Equatoria State, 2021 A.D.

  1. Title and Commencement:

This Decree shall be cited as “Gubernatorial Decree No.12/2021 for the appointment of Mayor and Deputies Mayor for Juba City Council, Central Equatoria State, 2021 A.D” and shall come into force on the date of its signature by the Governor of Central Equatoria State.

  1. The Decree:

In exercise of powers conferred upon me by Republican Decree No.51/2020 of the President, Republic of South Sudan, read together with Article 99 (2)(a) of the Transitional Constitution of Central Equatoria State, 2012 (as amended) and Section 53 (2) of the Local Government Act, 2009.

I, Emmanuel Adil Anthony Wani, Governor of Central Equatoria State do hereby issue this Decree for the appointment of Mayor and Deputies Mayor for Juba City Council, Central Equatoria State with effect from Friday March 19, 2021 as hereunder:

• 1) Cde. Kalisto Lado Faustino | Juba Mayor

• 2) Cde. Solomon Pitiya Nyambur | Deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance

• 3) Cde. Thiik Thiik Mayardit | Deputy Mayor for Infrastructure Development
