November 4, 2020 (Thessherald)–The former Bright Stars player, Taban Makoi Manyang, has been condemned for burning the national team’s jersey out of anger.
In a statement, the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) expressed its outrage at the act of imprudence shown by the former national team player.
“The entire administration of the South Sudan Football Association is calamitous with the insolence shown by the former National Team’s player Taban Makoi Manyang, by (burning the National Team’s jersey).”
“This action is not impudence to the SSFA only, rather it is to the whole country as well, Burning the national team’s jersey; means burning country’s flag. Therefore, we the entire administration of the SSFA is strongly condemn this harsh exploit”

The Bright Stars of South Sudan managed by former Under-20 Cameroon coach and former PWD of Bamenda player Ashu Besong are expected to face PWD of Bamenda three days after arriving Cameroon.
The team will also face Cameroon’s Intermediate selection on October 10 in an international friendly in Yaoundé. The South Sudanese Football selection has been in camp for just over two weeks fine-tuning strategies for these fixtures.
Cameroon have their eyes on the upcoming 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for January-February 2021 in Cameroon. South Sudan are sharpening their skills in search of a qualification ticket for the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The South Sudan team was involved in a friendly game against local club Al Rabita FC on Thursday.
Former Vipers SC forward Tito Okello and Mbarara City striker Makueth Wol bagged two each with Ivan Wani scoring the other goal in a 5-0 victory.
Meanwhile, PWD is preparing for the upcoming 2020/21 season which will see them represent Cameroon in the CAF Champions League.
South Sudan will tour Cameroon for the first time with both games to be played with a maximum of 200 persons in attendance.
