May 24, 2020 (Thessherald)–Nyajany Dei Wal, a staunch supporter of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement -IO, was suspended on Saturday from membership of the movement, due to her “disrespectful comment” on social media against opposition leader Riek Machar Teny.
“In reference to your post on social media personal page dated Thursday – 21, May 2020, which publicly called for the removal of the Chairman and Commander in Chief of SPLM-IO, Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, is a complete contravention of the member’s moral integrity,” said Musa A. Gatluak, Chairman of SPLM-IO Victoria Chapter.
“Your unprecedented statement is a mere distraction and unconstitutional misconduct that is tending to undermine the leadership of the movement and it cannot be tolerated any further. Cde. Nyajany, you have been publishing materials that’s instigating division among members and undermining the objectives and policies of the movement,” said the statement issued on Saturday by the Chairman of Victoria Chapter.
Abraham underscored that the comment violates 9.15 and 10.5 of the SPLM-IO Constitution.
“Your acts are clear breach to Article 9.15 and article 10.5 of the SPLM-IO Constitution 2015 and “you behaved in such a way as to provoke division, violence or a breakdown of unity in the movement”, Article 15.6, from SPLM-10 internal regulation and article 15.7 as well from the same document.”
“Therefore, based on consultations with the National Leaderships in Australia and in accordance with the SPLM-IO Constitution and the powers bestowed on me, I Musa Abraham Gatluak, the Chairman of SPLM-1O Victoria Chapter do hereby Suspend your membership for further notice with effect from the date of this letter, the leadership of SPLM-I0 Victoria Chapter will form a committee for further investigation, where by you can exercise your constitution rights to defend and explain yourself and we advise you to comply with it.”
Nyajany was the former Chairperson of SPLM-1OVictoria Chapter.
