June 2, 2020 (Thessherald)–A prominent South Sudanese political figure and Minister of East African Affairs John Luke died in the capital Juba this morning after a brief illness, according to one of his relatives interviewed this morning.
“He died this morning after a short illness, and we feel sad about his sudden demise,” the relative said.
Hon. John Luk Jok was a senior commander in the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) during the liberation struggle, a former Minister who served in a number of political dockets.
He was recently appointed as Minister of the East African Affairs in the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan.
