June 27, 2020 (Thessherald)–Authorities, notably the Juba City Council, has been criticized for allowing residents to heap up garbage in the country’s capital, Juba without enforcing and applying proper hygiene guidelines.

In Facebook posts on Saturday, social media users slammed the authorities for not locating a garbage dump, leaving roads littered with solid waste on their watch.

“The Juba City Council is busy collecting money from citizens as the nation’s capital continues to drown in heaps of garbage on their watch,” said a Facebook user identified as David K. Emmanuel

In September last year, the Juba City Council stated that arrangements were under way to contract a fair company to deal with garbage collection in residential neighborhoods in Juba.

Since last year, there have been a number of complaints from residents, complaining that excessive garbage buildup threatens their health conditions and blamed the city council responsible for garbage collection for being too lazy to take action.
